**[investwise]** German Henkel AG Forecasts An Extraordinary 2010

 

Consumer goods company Henkel AG has raised its full-year earnings outlook after reporting much-improved first-quarter profits. The Duesseldorf-based maker of Persil laundry detergent and Dial soap reported a quarterly net profit of euro266 million ($348 million) - up from euro121 million a year earlier. Sales rose 7.8 percent to euro3.5 billion. Henkel said Wednesday that all business sectors contributed to the improvement, particularly its adhesive technologies unit. For the whole of 2010, Henkel said it now expects adjusted operating profit to increase by more than 15 percent over last year. It previously forecast a rise of more than 10 percent. First-quarter adjusted EBIT was up 79.1 percent at euro421 million.
