unfortunately icici direct has stopped commodity trading. i used to do some 2 years back ..
one day they sent a email that they are stopping all trades and wanted us to sq off on some said date.. any way i had sto[[ed tradin commodity much before that. now they dont have

You cannot do commodities trading with ICICIdirect
But you can do currency trading after enabling the facility

you may go thru the mcx website for the details of margin requirements and the contract sizes and expiry dates and also the rules of setlement of trades,
 
Beware, about the settlement procedures... it is not the same as in NSE futures.
