Department of Company Affairs became an independent Ministry in 2004,
underlining the fact that the fast changing of environment in today's world
requires more intensive and focused attention in terms of the basic
corporate law framework and related services / activities.
2. As the new Ministry started defining it's role, a number of
initiatives were launched. In 2007, the Ministry adopted a new name
'Ministry of Corporate Affairs', along with a new vision. Over the last few
years, the Ministry has been able to reinvent itself successfully.
3. The story of reinventing of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs has
been brought out this month in Air India's 'Namaskar Focus Feature' titled
'Ministry of Corporate Affairs - Reinventing a Ministry'. I am enclosing a
