Re: Fw: [sharetrading] Re: BONUS ISSUE Guidance

5/07/10

A Glaxo Smithkline Pharma is GROUP A/BSE200 company. It is also fundamentally strong company.
Dividend track record is very good. It has huge reserves and very small debt. Last bonus issue was in 1995.
For last one year there is no BOD for Bonus issue. Future bonus may be insider info!! Trading volume is moderate, about 3K to 4K average per day.

This is strong long term investment stock.

THIS REPLY IS IMPERSONAL

Everyone who wish to make money in stock market should study himself. Getting Tips/information/Kmowledge
from any source is welcome. However, before taking any decision one should look into details.

I am in the market since PAPER era. Those days broker and news paper was only source of information for
retail investor. May be we were friends sharing info from print media. Today, info is available in abundance

It is very fast also.

Pl study before making any stock BUY/SELL. Visit NSE/BSE everyday. Do not just depend on tips/suggestions.
Else you will loose your own fund!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dear Chan, you still have good fund at your end, TRADE LESS BUT WISELY and recover the losses!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

By default all such info is available on BSE/NSE website. Pl keep track on them.
However, this stock is very very low volume trade stock. I/ll not recomend except that you have
surplus fund and you like to park. For long term it is a very good stock.

Dear Ankit,

There are 5 (FIVE) steps in Bonus issue.

1) Agenda of BOD for Bonus issue.
2) Resolution pass by BOD
3) Date of EGM/AGM
4) Resolution of EGM/AGM
5) Declaration of Record date.

The above events take about 3 - 9 months normally. Every event I mentioned above creates
market hype. Immediately after the above news appears on Stock Exchange Board, the price swings.
Maximum price swing is before Record Date period.

There are exceptions e.g. LOW volume scrips, poor bonus ratio, below market expectation ratio etc. This give less swings.

Now one can make money in each of above event.
Also some people take advantage of Loss booking for I Tax. i.e. Buy immediately on declaration of record date
and Sell Ex-bonus immediately.

In our group, if we can keep track of above events, it will be most advantages o make money.
The swings of the prices are sure shot profits. I t has nothing to do with index/nifty, Tech Chart etc.

The above is true for RIGHTS Issues also, with lesser price sing.

**[investwise]** China: Can You Call A 9 % GDP Growth A Recession?

The government says China's economy grew even faster last year than previously believed as it rebounded from the global slowdown.
Friday's announcement raised the official estimate of 2009 economic growth from 8.7 percent to 9.1 percent over the previous year. The earlier estimate already was the fastest growth of any major economy.

The new estimate would indicate that China rebounded even more strongly than thought from the global downturn. But it sets a higher standard for comparison that could make this year's growth look weaker amid worries the economic expansion is cooling.

I agree to Mukeshji & PRS.

Where is the austerity drive taken before the election.

Why this decision was not taken when crude was at low & taken now when our PM is assuring of controlling the inflation.

In RIL - RNRL case govt price control was the issue considered. Now barely after few days the control has gone ............ .........

Agreed to ur views. However more to be done by people and not by the leaders. We r so dump that unless political party get involved no one protest. They should implement minimum wage as well as the employment for people to survive which is not happening. We shouldn't compare EU or US for oil prices as they been fair in paying unemployed people for the survival and in GCC expats work and localite enjoy with oil, construction boom and money funded by Govt.
Such a inflation and price rise leads to more corruption at lower level. For rich no worry but they are greedy to get more. All development takes place in n around city politicians are having share of investment earlier then anyone else to take ride of profit on development.
Why common people can't have basic needs by way of subsidiary.

In my view protest should be there but not politically driven. How not sure but I think revolution is not far.

Shiv

agreed fully. but don't u think reforms should start from upside down? if leaders agree to decrease their salaries + allowances, it would set example on people. people follows their leaders. yatha raja,, yatha praja. like ministers, like people. most wastage of fuel done by ministers. people takes example from it & follows them. Lalbahadur Shastri is not far past example of morality. people gave tremendous response to restrict use of rice on particular days of week announced by Shastri when thee was shortage in rice production. they gave positive response cause they can saw his characterise & believe in him. how much leaders r there who can set such examples & force people to follow him in positive maters? my views. may be differ. but that's allowed in democracy. what u say. regards.

No disputes…

But I guess it is all really not that simple…………….

In Venezuela cost of petrol Rs 2.50 even today. No jokes……………. I have been there………….

In Dubai Rs 12…………. I have been there too………..

In EU it is near 1.3- 1.7 Euro eq to 90 rs….…………. I have been there too………..

So in a country where we want rampant corruption, due to excessive population (being one of the reasons, bcos demand outstrips supply), one should question oneself………..

I agree, we got freedom,,,  to have more children and burden the already burdened land. Nobody is willing to talk or discuss or face the reality….

Face it,,,, are you willing to control?

If not one should shut up and face the reality what one has to face with more children……….

Let us not expect the govt to reduce the cost of financial burden for us to have more children and burden the limited resources, this land has….

Just remember, this earth had population of just 2 billion just 1-2 centuries back. But now it is pushing near 8… Just think and act for one….

I for one have acted and am near my end of my tenure on this planet…… How many are there like me………….. Very few… sorry to say….

Just accept it and do not COMPLAIN……………….

This has nothing to do with the freedom fighters or the jawans who lost their lives for the land….

WE ARE ALL A LOT OF SELFISH PEOPLE>>>>>> Incl me in some respects….

I for one am neither for the BUNDH or against it. I just flow with the stream…………………..

**[investwise]** Herb Morgan: Pessimism Of 2010 Will Not Last For Long

In the DC comics' Bizarro World of the early 1960s Htrae (Earth spelled backward) is a fictional cube shaped planet ruled by the Bizarro Code "Us do opposite of all Earthly things! Us hate beauty! Us love ugliness! Is big crime to make anything perfect on Bizarro World!" The Bizarro broker sold bonds that were "guaranteed to lose money." Is life imitating fiction in 2010? Is 2010 the Bizarro 1999?

Let's compare attitudes of 1999 to today:

The Business Cycle: In 1999 the popular thinking was that the business cycle was dead. Technology had given businesses the ability to effectively manage inventories such that any recession would be short lived. Moore's law had so fundamentally changed the world that investors aggressively purchased shares in unknown companies with no history of profitability.

Valuations: Equities were extremely overvalued, but of course it was different this time, or so we were told. Technology stocks and mutual funds were all the rage. Up or out was the leading investment discipline of the time. Misplaced faith in growth was everywhere. In 1999 Cisco Systems reported revenue of $12.15 billion and net income of $2.10 billion.

That generated a market value in excess of $300 billion. Imagine, 150 times its net income! Why? Because things could only get better, or so we thought.

Today, Cisco has net income of closer to $10 billion or five times greater than what it had in 1999. In fact each of the last three quarters operating income numbers have been greater than the total of reported in 1999. Yet Cisco's market capitalization at $121 billion today is a mere shadow (40%) of its 1999 valuation. What can be said of Cisco can also be said of the S&P 500 and equity markets as a whole.

Look at this chart from Hays Advisory:

0702_herb-morgan-chart-small_170.jpg

The I/B/E/S (Institutional Brokers' Estimate System) began in 1976. IBES gathers multiple analysts' earnings estimates for publicly traded companies in the U.S. By comparing the forward 12-month earnings yield estimates to the yield of the 10-year Treasury note (considered to be risk free) investors can take an unemotional look at stock market valuations.

The difference in 2010 is simply a manifestation of a collective change in attitude, an inverse of 1999. A lack of confidence by the investing public permeates the national conscience.

So 2010 is no longer 2010, it is Bizarro 1999 where everything is opposite of then. But just like 1999, prices generated in the market are merely a reflection of all known information and the collective confidence we place on our future. To be sure, our level of confidence is the inverse of 1999. In retrospect our exuberance of the day was irrational and I suspect the same may be said of today's pessimism.

Yes we have an out of control government at every level. Yes, the European currency is faltering along with its banks. Yes, our country is failing with its fiscal stimulus. Yes, unemployment is high. Yes, risk capital is in hibernation. Yes, central banks are "printing money." Yes, yes, yes, yes and yes. Yes, the U.S. effectively nationalized General Motors, Citigroup, AIG, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

Yes, but the onward march of human freedom and capitalism is now so much bigger than just the U.S. Our ideas won! The world is just now digesting hundreds of millions of new workers and consumers.

Today's pessimism has created what I suspect will be a great buying opportunity. For I simply do not believe there exists the remotest chance that any part of today's condition is permanent. Seriously, do you really think gold and its ETF kin like the GLD and IAU can only go up?

Sometime in the near future things will change, and that will generate higher multiples and higher prices for the great companies of America. Yes, General Motors, Citigroup and AIG will again be private companies. Yes, Europe will return to growth. Yes, the U.S. economy will expand and create jobs. Yes, the American people will reject the false "hope" and "change."

I don't believe that St. Augustine played the market but I'd like to borrow his quote on faith: "Faith is to believe what you do not see; the reward of this faith is to see what you believe." Renew your faith in capitalism and renew your faith in the ability of our republic to fix what ails us. Renew your faith in ownership of great American companies. Stay long my friends.
