I have been receiving tax refunds, last couple of years, without any intervention on my part. Please ensure when filing return, to provide bank details and MICR / IFSB number in the returns, along with mobile number and correct address. IT dept has become much friendlier than in the past. And the rules always favor the assessed. This has been my assessment as in the last 2 years, I have been in and out of it for some purposes………
Be honest and it pays many dividends…. And give unto Ceaser, what his dues are……..

Yesterday, I could find an email in my yahoo inbox from Income Tax Department of India – Tax Refund. I was just surprised to see this email asking for my bank accounts & Card details with ATM PIN. For your Information, the intimation emails cannot be sent from any of government websites to any particular person. Later, I could find this email was Fake & the source of this email was from outside Please Beware before filing the Income Tax Returns online. This was the email in my yahoo mail
