Re: [sharetrading] China

Why it pays to be friendly with China
1. You can not change your neighbour. It  pays to ignore some of the tantrums of the neighbour rather than have a hostile one.
2. Please ponder, why US is ignoring China's human rights records, communism etc. and is hell bent upon keeping good relation with China? Business interests.
3. Instead of being hostile,  we should also follow US and search for the avenues of opportunities China offers. We have many unchartered areas to cover. Take for example..English, software, raw material, natural resources, Budhist tourism etc.
4. As regards to permanent seat in the Security Council, the Chinese are only returning us the favour, that Jawahar Lal Nehru had extended to them in 1956, when India was offered the Security Council seat.

China seems to be acting a bit arrogantly towards India recently. Some of the issues are:

1) Territorial disputes in Aksai Chin, Tawang, Arunachal
2) Stopping us from building roads in our territory
3) Siding with Pakistan against us and helping in nuclear capability
4) Constructing dams on common rivers without consultation
5) Dumping cheap goods in our markets
6) Questioning our PM's visit to Arunachal

The only plus factor seems to be its support on the UN seat

The Government as per its role, has to work using negotiation and cooperation but the general public is not constrained by such restrictions. Why not start a non-cooperation movement and stop buying Chinese goods. What will they do? Stop buying iron ore? That will solve the illegal mining problem.
